What is the XGMT Exam?

The Xavier General Management Aptitude Test (XGMT) is a university-level entrance exam for admission to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Business Finance (MBF) programs at XIM University, Bhubaneswar. Unlike the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), a national-level exam held in late January for admissions to top B-schools in India, the XGMT is considered slightly less challenging.

Candidates can select the MBA entrance exams they wish to use for their admission application. The XIM University application fee includes one exam selection. If candidates choose more than one exam, an additional fee of INR 400 is required. Those applying with XGMT scores must pay both the base application fee of INR 1700 and the XGMT exam fee of INR 1300.
For example, if a candidate selects both CAT and XGMT for admission to XIM University, the total fee would be INR 3400. This includes the base fee of INR 1700, an additional exam selection fee of INR 400, and the XGMT exam fee of INR 1300.
Candidates can pay the application fee online through NEFT/RTGS, Debit Card/Credit Card, or UPI.

XGMT Exam Age Limit

According to the XGMT’s notification from the previous year, applicants have no age limit. As long as other important requirements are met, candidates can take the XGMT exam as often as they wish.

Eligibility Criteria for the XGMT exam

All candidates wishing to appear for XGMT 2025 must meet the eligibility criteria. Those who meet the requirements can proceed with the registration and application process.

The XGMT eligibility criteria, as specified by the conducting body, are as follows:

  • Applicants must possess a three-year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (60% for MBA-UMG) from a recognized university.
  • Candidates who have graduated with 1st, 2nd, or 3rd positions in their undergraduate program are eligible to apply directly to the MBA-RM and MBA-UMG programs without a valid CAT/XAT/GMAT/XGMT score, provided they include a certificate from the Head of their Institution verifying their rank. They must, however, participate in the Personal Interview round.
  • Candidates who do not meet all the degree requirements by a specified date will have their admission canceled.
  • Additionally, once enrolled in a program at the university, candidates are not allowed to take examinations at any other institution or agency.
