What is the NMAT Exam?

NMAT, also known as NMAT by GMAC, is a national-level entrance exam for MBA admissions at NMIMS University and other esteemed B-Schools in India and abroad. Originally conducted by the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, the exam is now overseen by GMAC. Designed with test-taker convenience in mind, NMAT allows candidates to select their exam date and venue during the testing window using the NMAT scheduling option. Similar to the GMAT, candidates can self-schedule the test, choosing the date, time, and venue based on seat availability at their preferred test center. Conducted annually within a specified testing window, the NMAT by GMAC evaluates candidates across three sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.

How to Schedule NMAT 2024 Exam for 3 Attempts?

To maximise their chances of improving scores, candidates are permitted to take the NMAT exam up to three times (initial attempt plus two retakes). It is advisable for candidates to register for NMAT 2024 as early as possible. The timing of the first exam significantly impacts the number of possible attempts.

Candidates who schedule their first attempt before October 2024 can take the exam three times. Those who schedule between October and November 2024 are allowed two attempts. If the first attempt is scheduled after November 2024, only one attempt is possible.

Note: However, many top colleges, including all NMIMS campuses across India, KJ Somaiya, and SP Jain, only accept scores from the first attempt. Only a few colleges consider scores from the second and third attempts.

List of Colleges accepting NMAT scores

NMAT is widely accepted across India in several B-schools. Participating business schools set cutoff scores or ranks for NMAT admissions each year. The NMAT 2024 cutoff represents the minimum score or rank required for admission. These cutoffs are determined by factors such as the number of applicants, qualified candidates, exam difficulty, and available seats. Candidates meeting the NMAT 2024 cutoff are eligible for admission to participating institutes. While some institutes may not publicly release their cutoff scores, historical data from 2020, 2019, 2018, and 2017 indicate that cutoffs generally fall within certain ranges each year.
